Lois Kaiser, 75, Pierce City, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, in her home.
She was born Feb. 13, 1934, in Freistatt to Gerhardt and Hilda Osterloh Schoen.
She retired in 1998 from Schreiber Foods in Monett. She was secretary for Liberty Neighborhood Watch, and a member of Lutheran Braille and Lutheran Women’s League at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
She married Paul Kaiser Jan. 3, 1954, in Freistatt. He survives.
Additional survivors include two sons; Mark Kaiser, Monett, and Michael Kaiser, Pierce City; one daughter, Vickie Elmore, Nixa; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Schoen, and one sister, Lou Grehling.
Services were Thursday, Feb. 19, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Monett, with the Rev. Richard Cody officiating. Burial was in St. John’s-McCormick Lutheran Cemetery, under direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
Memorials may be made to the church or Community Hospice.

Bobby "Bob" Ray Kay
Bobby "Bob" Ray Kay, age 73, of Mt.Vernon, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, in Mt. Vernon.  He was born Oct. 12, 1936, in Wetumka, Okla., to Robert "Rob" and Letha (Littlejohn) Kay. 
     Bob graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1954, then served as an airman first class in the United States Air Force.
     Bob and Doris E. Cagle married Aug. 25, 1956, in Okmulgee, and of this union two children were born, Terri and Bill.
     After an honorable discharge, Bob received his bachelor's of education degree from Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Okla.
     In 1964, Bob, along with his brothers and father, founded Kay Concrete Materials Company, located in Monett, Aurora, Mt. Vernon, Sarcoxie and Republic, all of which are still thriving today.
     In 2003, Doris, Bob's wife of 47 years, passed away, Bob and Linda S. Mathis Eldridge married May 1, 2004, in Eureka Springs, Ark.  Bob was a member of the Mt. Vernon Church of Christ.
     Survivors include his wife, Linda S. Kay, of the home; mother Letha Kay of Monett; brothers Rex and Carol Kay of Monett and Larry and Rhonda Kay of Aurora; daughter Terri Mills of Mt. Vernon; son Bill and Penny Kay of Ozark; two stepsons, Pat Eldridge of Salem, Conn., and Jeff and Rachel Eldridge of Sagamore Beach, Mass.; six grandchildren, Amy Brown and Husband Brinson, Lacie Aleshire, Dylan Mills and his father, Kevin Mills, Rehgan Kay, Christian Kay, and their mother, Jennifer Kay, and Maddie Ellingson; two step-grandchildren, Sydney ad Jackson Eldridge; six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Haden, Addison, Calista, Colton and Caitlin; and two sister-in-law, Delores Walters of Okmulgee, Okla., and Mary Jane McGuire of Waverly; a brother-in-law, Don and Lynn Mathis of Miller; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him very much.
     Bob was predeceased by his wife Doris, father Rob, and an infant brother.
     Funeral services wre held at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon.  Funeral service was Saturday, followed by burial at the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery, in care of the Funeral Home.

Kaylin Ruth Keith
Kaylin Ruth Keith, daughter of Kenneth Keith and Latosha Knearem, of Pierce City, died at birth Thursday, April 1, 2010. Survivors include her parents; two sisters, twin Kynsie Keith, and Brooke Yahner, and one brother, Brayden Yahner, all of the home; maternal grandmother Kim Stacy, Pierce City; paternal grandparents Kim Lewis Probstfield, Ava, and Kenneth Keith Sr., Pierce City; and great-grandparents Patty Gilmartin and Jeff Miller, Verona, and Brenda Keith and Chuck Wakefield, both of Monett. Graveside services were Tuesday, April 6, at the family cemetery, near Pierce City, under direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett.
Elda Kelley
Elda Kelley, 84, Aurora, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, in Cox South, Springfield. She was born Sept. 5, 1925, in Clever to Nubern and Emma Points Brown. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Gene; two sons, Roger Kelley and Tommy Kelley, both of Aurora; two daughters, P.J. Kelley, Aurora, Colo., and Pamela Cox, Springfield; three brothers, Don Brown and George Brown, both of Aurora, and Joe Brown, Springfield; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Grover Brown and James Brown; one sister, Vesta Dean; and one granddaughter. Services were Saturday, March 20, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora.
Sondra Lynn Kennedy
Sondra Lynn Kennedy, 50, Waxahachie, Texas, formerly of Aurora, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She was born Sept. 17, 1959, in Monett to Leroy and Betty Jean (Bradley) Parker. She was a 1978 graduate of Aurora High School and was known for her work with Relay For Life programs. She married Tim Kennedy June 9, 1978, in Aurora. He survives. Prior to moving to Waxahachie in 2008, she owned and operated Blessing Floral in Marionville and the Kennedy Tax Service. She was a member of Aurora Baptist Temple, in Texas she attended Red Oak First Baptist Church. Additional survivors include two sons, Brandon Kennedy, Waxahachie, and Josh Kennedy, Mt. Vernon; her mother, Betty Parker, Aurora, one brother, Steven Parker, Aurora; and one granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one son, Caleb, and her father. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, at the Aurora Baptist Temple. Burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora. Memorial donations may be made to the family, in care of the funeral home.
Helen Kestin
Helen Kestin, 85, Aurora, died Monday, May 18, 2009, in her home. Services were Thursday, May 21, in Peterson Funeral Chapel, Aurora. Burial was in Viola Cemetery.
Clifford L. Kienenberger



Clifford L. Kienenberger, 82, Marionville, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, in his home.
He was born Feb. 15, 1925, in Elliot, N.D., to Ezra and Ella Kienenberger.
He married Alma W. Nelson Oct. 10, 1948.
He served on the USS Hope during World War II.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Howard and one sister, Mildred.
Survivors include his wife, Alma; two sons, Barry, Marionville, and Dennis, Chicago, Ill.; four daughters, Pamela Gloyne, Silva, N.C., Trudy Lawrence, Henderson, Ky., Cheryl Gregory, Sparks, Nev., and Shelia, Springfield; two brothers, Wayne Kienenberger, Lisbon, N.D., and Dean Kienenberger, Brooklyn, Mich.; one sister, Phyliss Arnt, Enderlin, N.D.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in the family cemetery in Lisbon, N.D.




Fred L. Kimberling
Fred L. Kimberling, 51, Billings, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at his home south of Clever. He was born Dec. 1, 1957, in Aurora to Noble and Helen (Keener) Kimberling. He married Nancy Stubblefield. She died Aug. 22, 2005.
He was a supervisor with Hartman and Company, Springfield. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis, Terry and Gary.
Survivors include one son, Greg Kimberling of the home; one stepson, Adam Fletcher, Aurora; his mother, Helen Cravens, Clever; and one brother, Larry Kimberling, Clever.
Services were Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Meadors Funeral Home, Clever. Burial was in Wright Cemetery, south of Clever.
Memorials may be made to an educational fund for Greg at Commerce Bank in Republic.
Sterling Kingsley




Sterling Kingsley, La Russell, 92, died Monday, March 12, 2007, at the Living Community, St. Joseph, where he had lived for the past year. He was born Jan. 9, 1915, in Phelps to Roy Craig and Rose Nell (Cantwell) Kingsley. He lived in the Phelps-LaRussell area all of his life Following high school, he received a teaching degree from Missouri State University, Springfield, and received his master's degree in education from Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kan. He taught school for many years and retired in 1957 from the Joplin School District. He joined the United State Air Force and served during World War II from 1943 through 1945. He farmed for many years in LaRussell. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clyde, D.O. (Buzz) and Jack Kingsley, and three sisters, Muriel Kingsley, Icel Kilgore and Nathalie (Sis) Richardson. Survivors include one brother, Kirby Kingsley, St. Joseph. Services were Sunday, March 18, at Housh Funeral Home Chapel, Sarcoxie. Burial was in the Sarcoxie Cemetery.


Robert Lee Kinkead
Robert Lee Kinkead, 79, Aurora, formerly of Marionville, MO, died at 11:01 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at his home. He was born March 6, 1931, in Ash Grove to Fredrick and Ida (Crider) Kinkead. He lived in the Lawrence County community since 1965, and worked for IDF as a maintenance man.
Survivors include five daughters, Robyn Hovis and Shelly Feeney, both of Wyoming, Brenda Carr, Springfield, Valene "Tootie" Price, Aurora, and Janette "Sally" White, Marionville; three sons, Scott Kinkead, Fenton, and Jeff "Buck" Kinkead and Steven "Shorty" Kinkead, both of Marionville; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, Floyd, Earl, William, Loyd, Oma, Genieva, Varlee, Dorothy and Wanda Jean.
Graveside services were Monday, April 12, at Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora, under direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.
Alice Sophia Kleiboeker



Alice Sophia Kleiboeker, 91, Stotts City, MO,  died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, in the Lawrence County Manor, Mt. Vernon.
She was born Nov. 28, 1915, in Smolan, Kan., to Clarence T. and Viola Johnson Nelson.
She married Alvin Kleiboeker Aug. 10, 1941, in Freistatt. He survives.
She attended Bethany College in Kansas and Missouri State University, Springfield. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Drury University, Springfield. she taught elementary school, including at Edgewood, the last rural one-room school in Lawrence County, and Mt. Vernon Elementary School. She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, in which she was active in Dorcas Lutheran Women Missionary League. She was a member of the Friendship Club of Freistatt and the Retired Missouri Teachers.
Additional survivors include three sons, David Kleibocker, Quincy, Ill., and Donald and Daniel Kleibocker, both of Stotts City; one daughter, Karen Kleiboeker, Neosho; one brother, Verner Nelson, Mt. Vernon; one sister, Viola Ruth Schultz, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Christine Sifferman, and one brother, Frank Nelson.
Services were Sunday, March 18, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt, with the Rev. Gary Griffin officiating. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Freistatt, under direction of Buchanan Funeral HOme Chapel, Monett. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Radio Broadcast and Trinity Lutheran School Scholarship Fund.




Joseph S. Konecnik
Joseph S. Konecnik, 69, Aurora, MO, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, in his home.He was born July 14, 1938, in East St. Louis, Ill, to Joseph and Mary Hlavek Konecnik. He was a retired sheet metal worker and a United States Army veteran.


Survivors include his wife, Rose; one son, Charles Taylor, Columbus, Kan.; two daughters, Vicky Harris, Wichita, Kan., and Melinda Wulf, Republic; his mother; one sister, Mary Ann Sokal, Las Vegas; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and two sisters, Jeannie Weidemiller and Betty Jo Fields.
Services were Thursday Jan. 25, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora.






Nana Kramer
Nana Kramer, 84, Purdy, MO, died at 7:25 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, at Lawrence County Manor, Mt. Vernon, following a long illness.
She was born June 7, 1924, to Marguerite Marie and Joseph Nell George. She was a licensed practical nurse, retiring in 1990 after 47 years of service. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Raceland, Ky., and the Eastern Star.
She was married to Wayne Melvin Kramer, He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jenka Kramer.
Survivors include one son, Robert Holloway, South Point, Ohio; two daughters, Janina Dickerson, El Paso, Texas, and Nancy Grissom, Purdy; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were Friday, March 13, at Steen Funeral Home - Central Avenue Chapel, Ashland, Ky. Burial was in Sexton Cemetery, Danleyton, Ky.
Betty Joann Kristek
Betty Joann Kristek, 80, Verona, MO, died at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010, at the Aurora Nursing Center, Aurora. She was born June 29, 1929, in Wichita, Kan., to Glenn and Viola (Apple) Hamman. She was a 1947 graduate of Wichita East High School and graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Kenneth Glover in Mt. Vernon, the Aurora Community Hospital and St. Vincent's Hospital in Monett. She also worked as the camp nurse for Camp Renewal and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Cursillo. She also assisted with RCIA classes at her church.
She married Albert Kristek Sept. 30, 1952, in Verona. He died Oct. 30, 1988.
Survivors include her children, Dennis Kristek and Craig Kristek, both of Verona, Viola Kirk and Fay Bryant, both of Aurora, Patricia Drake, Monett, Therese Ramos, Springfield and Nancy Smith-Leach, Mt. Vernon; one bother, Chuck Hamman, Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Punky Atteberry, Verona, and Katie Barger, Towanda, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Kelly Kristek; one brother, Frank Hamman; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral Mass was Wednesday, March 31, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Aurora. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Verona, under direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.
Memorial donations may be made to Camp Renewal, in care of the funeral home.
Arnold A. Krueger



Arnold A. Krueger, 93 Freistatt, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at the Lawrence County Manor, Mt. Vernon.
He was born March 10, 1914, in Monett to Anton and Ida Carolyn Lampe Krueger.
He was a farmer and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt.
Survivors include one brother, Erwin Krueger, Monett; and two sisters, Rose Meyer, LaGuna Woods, Calif., and Flora Krueger, Springfield.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Krueger, and one sister Esther Meyer.
Services were Saturday, March 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Freistatt, with the Rev. Gary Griffin officiating. Burial ws in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, Freistatt, under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
