Mildred Ada Youngberg


Mildred Ada Youngberg, 94, Verona, MO, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, in the Aurora Nursing Center, in Aurora.
She was born Sept. 9, 1912, at Zwingle, Iowa, to Raymond and Florence Bradley. She graduated from Alta, Iowa.
She married Edwin Youngberg Aug. 29, 1931. He died April 7, 1976.
She had lived in Verona since 1955. She was a homemaker and a member of the Verona Christian Church for 50 years.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Eugene Youngberg, June 30, 1940, one brother, Bill Bradley, one sister, Blanch Preston, and one grandson.
Survivors include five children, Lyle Youngberg, Verona, Arlene Fields, Billings, Karen Darr, Crane, Anita Viles, Hollister, and Sandra Wright, Stark City; one sister, Margaret Griffel, Sioux City, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday Jan. 6, at the Verona Christian Church under the direction of Peterson Funeral Home, Aurora.
Burial was Monday, Jan. 8, in Fairfield Cemetery, Albert City, Iowa.
Memorials may be made to the Verona Christian Church.

William Michael "Mike" Zay
William Michael "Mike" Zay, 68, Aurora, MO, died at 2:38 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at St. John's Springfield.
He was born Dec. 23, 1941, in Springfield to William John and Merry (Waddell) Zay.
He was a 1959 graduate of Parkview High School in Springfield and was a United States Marine veteran. He was the former owner of the Elliott Street Laundromat and Aurora Bowl. He worked as a broker for Century 21 in Aurora, and was a member of the Aurora Lions Club and Aurora United Methodist Church. He was a former councilman for the City of Aurora.
Survivors include Danette Zay of the home; five daughters, Sabra and Angela Zay, Springfield, Ashley Ivkovic, Leawood, Kan., Audrey Koop, St. Louis, and Annalyn Zay, New Orleans, La.; one sister, Elizabeth Zay, Sand Springs, Okla; one brother, Bob Zay, West Hollywood, Calif.; three stepchildren, Alison Perriman, Lecenter, Wash., and Amy Savage and Joshua Barr, Aurora; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date, under direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lions Club, in care of the funeral home.
Steve Zellers
Steve Zellers, 94, Aurora, MO, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010.  He was born June 23, 1916, in Cassville to Charlie and Ollie Foster Zellers. 
     He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended New Life Fellowship in Crane.  He had served as a deacon of the church since it was founded in 1985.  He served in the United States Army, 1st Infantry Division.  "The Big Red One."  He received eight bronze stars for serving in eight campaigns, including D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge.
     He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Alene Essary Zellers, and one son, Eddie Zellers.
     Survivors include one son, Lonnie Zellers, Aurora; three daughters, Linda Gentry, Marionville, Fayelene Wilks, Hurley, and Donna Bliss, Crane; two sisters, Ethel Bricker, Aurora, and Annie Smith, Marionville; 11 grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
     Services were Friday, Sept. 3, in Westtrip Funeral HOme, Crane, Burial was in Mars Hill Cemetery, Crane.
Ella Lois Ziel

Ella Lois Ziel, 92, Aurora, MO, died at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007, in the Aurora Nursing Center.
She was born Feb. 24, 1915, in Henderson, Ky., to George and Mary (Murrell) Cos. She was a retired waitress.
Local survivors include two nephews, Dan Broyles and Jim Love, both of Aurora.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
No services are planned. Burial was in Fernwood Cemetery, Henderson, under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.
