Bianca Volpe Dato
Bianca Volpe Dato, 87, Aurora, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007. She was born Oct. 13, 1920, in Barra, Italy. She had lived in southwest Missouri - first in Verona and then Aurora - for the past 29 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Maria Eden, Aurora; two sisters, Amelia James and Maria Johnson, both of Florida; four grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters.
Services were Saturday, Dec. 15, in Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora, with burial in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora.
Ruth Davis
Ruth Davis, Aurora, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007.
Services, under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, were Monday, April 30, 2007. burial was in the IOOF Cemetery, Marionville.
Lester Howard Davis
Lester Howard Davis, 93, Aurora, died at 1:05 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2007, in St. John's, Aurora. He was born July 25, 1913,in Lawrence County to James and Francis Norman Davis. He married Anna Mae Ortwein March 4, 1935, in Carthage. She died Oct. 28, 1937. He married Catherine Lucille Howard Nov. 12, 1938, in Cassville. She died Oct. 5, 2000. He married Edna Lee Wright Kasinger July 1, 2001, in Elm Branch Christian Church, Aurora. He was self-employed most of his life. He was a farmer and then worked as a security guard for the Missouri State Chest Hospital (now Missouri Rehabilitation Center) from July 1969 until retirement in July 1983. He was a member of Elm Branch Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Edna Lee, of the home; one son, Charley Davis, Marionville; four daughters, Anna Marie Walker, Aurora, and Linda Jones, Clearwater, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Tammy Conner, Willard, an Melissa Cypher, Aurora; two sisters, Ivon Rickman, Denver, Colo., and Betty Buehler, Aurora; 19 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, James (Jimmy) Davis. Services were Saturday, May 19, in the Elm Branch Christian Church, north of Aurora, with the Rev. David Martin officiating. Burial was in Marionville IOOF Cemetery, under direction of Williams Funeral Home, Marionville.
Julia Elizabeth Davis-Perkins
Julia Elizabeth Davis-Perkins, 73, Aurora, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, in Cox South, Springfield after a long illness. She was born Nov. 1, 1935, in Butler County to Fannie May Stucker-Davis and Claude Davis. She graduated from Marionville High School. Shortly after graduation she moved to Dallas, Texas, and worked for a short time before marrying Maurice Wayne Perkins. He died in 1980. She received a degree in early childhood development and began a career in preschool education and special education. She set up a pilot program for the state of Texas for the first preschool within a public school district. She moved back to Aurora in 1999. Survivors include two sons, Forrest and Tracy Perkins; one brother, James "Buster" Davis; and seven sisters, Anna Mae Maples,Helen Davis Murray, Betty Davis-Pettit, Mary Davis-McRoberts, Shirley Davis-Lane-Ward, Carol Jean Davis and Cathye Sue Davis. Services were Monday, Dec. 29, in First Christian Church, Aurora, under direction of Peterson Funeral Chapel, Aurora. Burial will be in the spring in Oaklawn Cemetery, Mabank, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations for costs can be made to the family, in care of First Christian Church, 39 W. Pleasant, Aurora, MO 65605.
Lloyd B. Deckard
Lloyd B. Deckard, 100, Marionville, formerly of Springfield, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, in the Ozarks Methodist Manor, Marionville. He was born Dec. 11, 1908, in Niangua. He was manager of Producers Ice and Cold Storage. He was a member of the High Street Baptist Church, Springfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dahl Deckard; and one son, Gerald Deckard. Survivors include two children, LaWanda Meltabarger, Marionville, and Bobbi Hamilton, Springfield; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchidlren. Services were Monday, Oct. 5, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
Lillian Deems
Lillian Deems, 85, Monett, died at 8:53 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at Cox South, Springfield. She was born April 30, 1924, in Caraway, Ark., to Roy and Gertrude Bryant Arnett. She married Edward Deems Sept. 18, 1952, in Draton Plains, Mich. He survives. She retired from Lacoba Homes as a nurse's aide. She was a member of the South Side Church of Christ in Monett. Additional survivors include three daughters, Dianna Lasswell, Pierce City, Marcia Deems, Monett, and Kimberly Lorton, Cowden, Ill.; one son, Randy Deems, Pierce City; one brother, Warren Arnett, Springfield; and four sisters, Geneva Willis, Pontiac, Mich., Betty Cauthron, Billings, Mary Wade, Lebanon, and Sandy Arnett, Marionville. Graveside serices were Saturday, Sept. 12, at Oakdale Cemetery, Monett, with Mike Veatch officiating.
Clayton Howard Delker
Clayton Howard Delker, 79, Aurora, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, in St. John's, Springfield. He was born June 18, 1930, in Pratt, Kan., to Clayton and Dora (Clark) Delker. He was a welder and lived in Aurora the past 20 years, moving from Crane. He was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church. Survivors include his wife, Ernesteen, Aurora; two sons, David Delker and John Delker, both of Aurora; one sister, Eva Allard, Texas; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services were Wednesday, Oct. 7, in Manlove-Stumpff Chapel, Crane, with the Rev. Bob Allmon officiating. Cremation followed the service.
Dwight "David" DeMoss
Dwight “David” DeMoss, 53, Aurora, died Sunday, April 8, 2007, after a long battle with lung cancer.
He was born June 29, 1953, in Hillsboro, Texas, to Thomas and Geraldine (Ackerman) DeMoss Sr. They preceded him in death.
His family moved to Aurora when he was in fifth grade. He graduated from Aurora High School in 1973. After living in Florida and Texas, he returned to Aurora in 1990. He worked in the grocery business for 17 years. In 1996, he opened Worldwide Investigations and was a private investigator.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; two sons, Chase, Dallas, Texas and Trever, Aurora; one brother, Tom, Aurora; and three sisters, Marti DeMoss-Krever, Omaha, Neb., Mandi Gaddy, Strafford, and Staci Hobby, Wentworth.
He was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. Services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 12, in the Aurora United Methodist Church, under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.
Memorial contributions may be made to the David DeMoss Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
Sue Ellen DePriest
Sue Ellen DePriest, 62, Aurora, died at 11:18 p.m. Sunday, Sept 5, 2010, at her home.  She was born May 22, 1948, in Wheaton to Bryan and Thelma Marie (Long) Cook.
     She married Fred L. DePriest April 24, 1993, in Eureka Springs, Ark.  He survives.
     Additional survivors include two sons, John Bowman, Crane, and Jerry Bowman, Springfield; one daughter, Enisa DePriest, Aurora; one sister, Mary Price, Joplin; three stepdaughters, Jennifer Yeager, Sparta, Jackie Kenyon, Texarana, Ark., and Jane Depriest, Ozark; and 11 grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Paul Cook; one sister, Betty Fox; and one grandson.
     Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m Thursday, Sept. 9, in the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home Chapel, Aurora.  No services are planned.

Kathy Sue (Scott) Duda
Kathy Sue (Scott) Duda, 59, Marionville, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at her home. She was born Oct. 12, 1949, to William Frederick Scott and Shirley Scott-Oellermann. Survivors include one son, Robert E. Duda Jr., Marionville; one daughter, Rebecca Elaine Chandler, Barnhart; two siblings, Greg Scott and Nancy Walsh; and four grandchildren. She was a paralegal for Baird, Lightner, Millsap and Harpool, Attorneys at Law. Memorial services were Sunday, March 15, at the First Baptist Church, Marionville. Funeral and burial will be in St. Louis, ,near her place of birth.
