Charles Thomas Israel
Charles Thomas Israel, 13, Marionville, died at 12:42 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 2009, in the Shriner's Children's Burn Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was Born Oct. 4, 1995, in Springfield to Charles Anthony Israel and Charity Dawn Jensen.
He was a student at Marionville Junior High School and attended Church on the Rock in Aurora.
Survivors include his father, Tony Israel, Marionville; his mother, Dawn Jensen, Billings; two brothers, Benny Kordel Israel, Cassville, and Trevor Allen Jensen, Billings; two sisters, Hailey Ann Cutbirth and MaKayla Cheyenne Cutbirth, both of Billings; his paternal grandparents, Randy and Linda Israel, Marionville; his maternal grandparents, Pam VanScoy, Billings, and Fred Jensen, Marionville; maternal and paternal great-grandmother, Louise Marks, Aurora.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, in the Williams Funeral Home Chapel, Marionville, with the Rev. Robert Manley officiating. Burial will be in the Bowling Chapel Cemetery, Crane.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, in the funeral home.

Willena Jackson
Willena Jackson, 88, Marionville, died at 2:31 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010, in the Aurora Nursing Center, Aurora.
She was born May 20, 1921, in Marionville to Charles Emerson and Jewell Opal Holder McClure. She was a homemaker and a member of the Full Gospel Church in Billings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Glen "Jimmy" Jackson, in 1983.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Brown, Billings, and Marcia Sanders, Aurora; two brothers, Johnny McClure, Aurora, and Emerson McClure, Springfield; one sister, Margie Lathrop, Marionville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday, March 22, in the Williams Funeral Chapel, Marionville, with the Rev. Lee Miller officiating. Burial was in Delaware Cemetery in Nixa.
Ross David Jakeway
Ross David Jakeway, 92, Aurora, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, in his home.
He was born Aug. 10, 1917, in Caney, Kan.
He was a retired post office janitor and a lifelong resident of the area.
He was a member of the Galena Masonic Lodge, the Aurora Grand Square Dancers and the Crane Christian Church. He was a United States Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty "Lorene", and one daughter, Linda Eisenhour.
Survivors include one son, Michael David Jakeway, and one daughter, Lisa Mitchell, both of Aurora; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were Wednesday, Aug. 26, in Manlove-Stumpff Chapel, Crane, with Howard Mountcastle and Bruce Belin officiating. Burial was in Crane Community Cemetery.
Orville F. Janes
Orville F. Janes, 78, Aurora, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at his home.  He was born May 11, 1932, in Billings to Wyves and Venice (Talley) Janes.
     He was a member of the Valley View Baptist Church, Marionville.
     He married Doris Howard June 3, 1950.  She died March 29, 2000.  He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Howard, Charles, Bobby and Billy; and two sisters, May Lou Andrews ad Charlene Young.
     Survivors include one son, Freddy Janes, Battlefield; three daughters, Jacquie Mais, Shirley Hopkins and Lori Wright, all of Marionville; one brother, Jimmy Janes; one sister, Margie Russell; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchlildren.
     A celebration of his life was Saturday, Sept. 4, at the First Baptist Church, Marionville, with Bro. Ed Edwards Officiating.  Burial was in the Marionville IOOF Cemetery, under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marionville public schools to benefit boy's and girl's athletics or the Valley View Baptist Church, in csre of the funeral home.
Jerry Leon Jay
Jerry Leon Jay, 56, Aurora, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, in his home.
He was born March 22, 1951, in Jenkins to Henry Westley and Mary Louisi Long Jay.
He worked as a chemist maintenance in Kentucky before retiring and moving back to Aurora.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Joan Marie Jay; three brothers, Orville, Terry, Lynn and Henry Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Jr., and Matt of Michigan; two stepdaughters, Alison Hemertt, Washington, and Genelle LaBarr, Iowa; one stepson, Reid Mitchelle, Iowa; three brothers, Robert Jay, Galena, Don Jay, Lamar, and Fred Jay, Neosho; one sister, Goldie Sue Williams, Aurora; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Cremation is under direction of Peterson Fuenral Chapel, Aurora.

Danalee "Dee" Jenkins
Danalee "Dee" Jenkins, 63, Cassville, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, in St. John's, Springfield.
She was born May 2, 1946, in Wickenburg, Ariz., to Bill and Gladys (Akin) Gray. She married Harold L. Jenkins March 6, 1987, in Miami, Okla. He survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Monte Caldwell, Hoxie, Ark.; two daughters, Terri Meyers, Stratford, Okla., and Christi Rogers, Clever; two stepdaughters, Becky Jones, Aurora, and Patti Tucker, Marionville; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She grew up and received her education in Oklahoma. She attended East Central University in Ada, Okla. She was a homemaker and a Christian.
No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
Richard Jenkins
Richard Jenkins, 57, Verona, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, in Mt. Vernon.
He was born Dec. 26, 1951, in Aurora to Wilburn and Joan Williams Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; five brothers, Darrell Jenkins, Humansville, and Gary Jenkins, Bob Jenkins, Tom Jenkins and Jerry Jenkins, all of Aurora; five sisters, Barbara McGlothlin, Blue Eye, Beverly Winsia, Springfield, Brenda Wrinkle, Reeds Spring, and Bebbie Robinson and Karen Koehler, both of Aurora; and one stepdaughter, Becky Daniels, Concordia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services were Tuesday, Sept. 22, in Maple Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Bob Simon officiating, under direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Maryann Jennings
Maryann Jennings, 90, Marionville, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at the Ozarks Methodist Manor, Marionville. She was born Aug. 27, 1919, in Neosho to William H. ("W.H.") and Margaret Ellen (Sprague) Charlton. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of Christ.
She married Raymond Jennings in 1941. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie Eads and Edith Spencer; and four brothers, Wesley Charlton, Clinton Charlton, Irvin Charlton and Robert Charlton.
Survivors include one sister, Margaret Mahan, Marionville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Clark Chapel of Memories, Neosho, with the Rev. Brenda Garner officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Neosho.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12.
Betty Ruth Jensen
Betty Ruth Jensen, 80, Aurora, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, in St. John's Springfield.
She was born Sept. 9, 1927, in Dakota County, Neb., to George and Nellie (Malone) Leedom. She married Royd Jensen Oct. 10, 1954, in Tracy, Minn. She was a homemaker, an Avon representative for more than 25 years, and was of the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include her husband, Royd; three sons, Frank Hanson, Texas, David Hanson, Joplin, and Steven Jensen, Waterloo, Iowa; one daughter, Sandy Wybony, Mason City, Iowa; one sister, Dorothy Dobyns, Marionville; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Colleen Christensen.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, in Hillside Cemetery in Lake Wilson, Minn., with Pastor Jon Skaar officiating. Local arrangements are under direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.

Idelle M. Johnson

Idelle M. Johnson, 93, Marionville, died at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at the Ozarks Methodist Manor, Marionville.
She was born Nov. 16, 1913, in Prague, Okla., to John A. and Rebecca (Ament) Faucher.
She was a machine operator for Juvenile Shoe Company and a member of the United Methodist Church of Aurora for more than 60 years.
She married Ray Johnson in 1930 in Aurora. He died Sept. 19, 1972.
Survivors include one son, Stanley Johnson, Marionville; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joan Tucker, and two sisters, Ruby Unterkircher and Jeanette Sumners.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at the United Methodist Church, Aurora with the Rev. Bruce Jeffries officiating. Burial will be in Spring River Cemetery, Verona, under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday until service time in the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church or the Ozarks Methodist Manor, in care of the funeral home.

Maryellen Brown Johnson
Maryellen Brown Johnson, 90, Marionville, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008.
She was born Jan. 28, 1918 in Sutherland, Iowa, to Columbus and Carrie Archer Brown.
She graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in 1940 with a degree in elementary education and took up teaching at a rural one-room schoolhouse.
In 1943, she married Donald M. Johnson. They moved around the country, as he trained to fly B-17’s. After the war, they moved to Mason City, Iowa, where she began her teaching career. She taught second grade for more than 40 years in Iowa and Nebraska.
After her husband’s death, she moved to Springfield to be near her daughter, and later moved to the Ozarks Methodist Manor, Marionville.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Survivors include one daughter, Julie Johnson, Billings; one son, Jim Johnson, Brattleboro, Vt.; one sister, Barbara Boggs, Apache Junction, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
Family services and burial will be in Mason City at a later time.
Willis Johnson
Willis Johnson, 93, Ash Grove, died Sunday evening, March 22, 2009, in University Hospital, Columbia, following a short illness. He was born in Halltown and was a lifelong resident of the Halltown and Ash Grove areas, until moving to Columbia to be near his son and family. He was a farmer and stockman and was a member of the Paris Springs United Methodist Church. He was a judge (commissioner) for the Eastern District of Lawrence County for 10 years. He married Helen J. Johnson March 23, 1940. She died March 16, 2007. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Edwin, Olan, Wesley and Billie Johnson, and one sister, Gwen Fine. Survivors include a son, Lyle Johnson, Columbia; a brother , Calvin Johnson, Everton; a sister, Retha Ella Berry, Overland Park, Kan.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in Wilson-Brim-Daniel Chapel, Ash Grove, with Dr. Larry Fine officiating. Burial will be in Misemer Cemetery, west of Halltown.Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. prior to the services.
Billy Charles Jones
Billy Charles Jones, 76, Aurora, died at 6:17 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, in Cox South. He was born July 24, 1931, in Aurora to Johnnie H. and Laura M. (Benson) Jones. He married Elizabeth Amelia Keightley June 18, 1949, in San Diego, Calif. He served as vice president of Bank of America in San Diego, retiring in July 1986. He served 22 years in the United States Navy in Vietnam and Korea, retiring in 1969. He joined the naval Fleet Reserve in 1977. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Aurora Lions Club, where he served as district governor from 1999 to 2000. He a a 17-year member of the American Legion, Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge, held offices in the Eastern Star and was a 35-year blood donor. He delivered meals and prepared taxes for senior citizens. Survivors include his wife, Betty; two sons, John Charles Jones, Aurora, and Steven Ray Jones, Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Kathleen Andrews and Karen Marie Morrison, both of Aurora; two sisters, Helen Fay McCormick, Aurora, and Mitzi Strawn, Verona; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services were Saturday, Dec. 8, in Aurora United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Jeffries officiating. Burial was in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora, under direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora. Donations may be made to the United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
Erma Aleatha Jones
Erma Aleatha Jones, 84, Aurora, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, in her home. She was born March 3, 1923, in Walnut, Neb., to Charles A. and Clara May (Osborn) Reynolds. She married Frank Davis and later Harold Jones. Both preceded her in death. She worked for several bakeries in Kansas City and retired from Butler Manufacturing in Kansas City, Kan. She had lived in Aurora the past 14 years. She was a member of the Aurora First Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Eddie Davis, Shell Knob; two granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters and a grandson. Services were Thursday, Oct. 11, in the Aurora First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roger Brumley officiating. Burial was in Fields Cemetery, Shell Knob, under direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.
Frances Evelyn Jones
Frances Evelyn Jones, 88, Aurora, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, in the Aurora Nursing Center. She was born July 21, 1921, in Aurora to John and Mabel (Reynolds) Cline. She was a lifelong area resident. Before retiring, she had worked for the Aurora School System as a cook. She was a member of the Elm Branch Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Asa Monroe Jones, and one sister, Lois Basinger. Survivors include one daughter, Carol Holmes, Crane; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services were Tuesday, Aug. 11, in Manlove-Stumpff Chapel, Crane, with Jerry Jenkins officiating. Burial was in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Joyce Ann Jones
Joyce Ann Jones, 67, Greenfield, died at 11:55 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, in her home. She was born Dec. 19, 1939, in Dadeville to Clyde E. and Mabel L. (Aleshire) Kirby. She was a homemaker. She married Bill J. Alexander June 28, 1956. He preceded her in death. She married John Calvin Jones Feb. 14, 1991, in Lockwood. He survives. Additional survivors include two daughters, Lisa Bishop and Cynthia Reno, both of Lockwood; one son, Kirby Joe Alexander, Lockwood; one brother, Bob F. Kirby, Cherryville, Kan.; three sisters, Bonnie Stapp, Greenfield, Carolyn Glenn, Republic and Linda Dickison, Springfield; and six grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rowena Polzin. Services were Tuesday, Oct. 23, in the Main Street Baptist Church, Greenfield, with the Rev. Harold McMasters officiating, under direction of Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, Miller. Burial was in Kings Point Cemetery, south of Lockwood. Minford Bryan Jones
Minford Bryan Jones, 80, Aurora, died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at the Aurora Nursing Center. He was born April 30, 1929, in Aurora to Bryan and Francis (Smith) Jones. He was a 1947 graduate of Aurora High School, a member of Orange Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a United States Army veteran. He worked as a printing press operator for MWM Dexter Printing Company for 41 years, retiring in 1991. He married Avanell Bellis Aug. 22, 1951, in Eureka Springs, Ark. She survives. Additioanl survivors include one son, Rick Jones, Monett; one daughter, Renee Rogers, Republic; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Marylee Elsey. Services were Saturday, May 23, in Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora. Burial was in Orange Cemetery, north of Aurora. Memorial donations may be made to Orange Cumberland Presbyterian Church, in care of the funeral home.
William "Bill" Jones
William "Bill" Jones, 81, Marionville, died at 3:50 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at the Ozarks Methodist Manor. He was born Jan. 10, 1928, in Springfield to William Arthur and Mary Laverta (Arnhart) Jones. He was a 1945 graduate of Marionville High School and was a United States Army veteran. He retired as a computer programmer from the Department of the Army in St. Louis. Survivors include one sisters, Wilda "Rosemary" Kenworthy, Portland, Ore. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Earl and Jim Jones; and one sister, Laverta Mae Jones. Arrangements are under direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora. No services are planned.
Ethel G. Jordan
Ethel G. Jordan, 92, Marionville, died at 4:40 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, in the Ozarks Methodist Manor, Marionville. She was born May 19, 1915, in Barry County to Fritz and Sadie (Lusk) Pilkenton. She was a 1933 graduate of Crane High School, a member of Kings Prairie Extension Club, Aurora Hospital Auxillary, and a longtime member of the first Christian Church. She married Ray Jordan June 15, 1935. He died April 22, 1980. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Hillhouse, Aurora, and Donita Bolton, Murfreesboro, Tenn; two sisters, Georganna Brashers, Marionville, and Angela Williams, Aurora, one brother, J.D. Pilkenton, Aurora; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services were Tuesday, July 24, in Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora, with burial in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Season Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
Philip Jay Jordan
Philip Jay Jordan, 50, Aurora, died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, in his home. He was born Jan. 9, 1957, in Michigan to Jessie and Joyce (Long) Jordan. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Christian Motorcycle Association and Knights of Columbus. He received an award for helping during the 2007 ice storm. He married Patricia "Patty" Nelson in Las Vegas, Nev., Jan. 19, 1984. She survives. Additional survivors include one son, Danny, of the home. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services were Friday, Sept. 7, at Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora, under direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home.
Lena June Journagan
Lena June Journagan, 89, passed away at 5:54 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, in St. John's Health Care Center in Springfield. She was born June 30, 1918, in Hoberg to Joe Roy and Jewell (Powell) Allen. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1936 and Southwest Missouri State Teachers College in Springfield in 1940. She worked as secretary and treasurer for the family hardware store. She was a 50-plus year member and elder of First Presbyterian Church, Aurora, where she enjoyed the Westminster Circle. She was a 50-year member of the PEO Chapter DD, the Saturday Club, a charter member of the Aurora Hospital Auxiliary and an avid bridge player. She married Clifton Journagan April 27, 1941, in Branson. She is survived by her husband, Clifton; one daughter, Jewell Coulson and husband Michael of Troy, Ill.; two sons, Ron and wife Philly of double Oak, Texas, and Bob and wife Caren of Aurora: one sister, Mildred Kenyon of Branson; one brother, Joe Roy Allen Jr., and wife Betty of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law Nora Allen of Beebe, Ark.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Allen, ad brother-in-law Bill Kenyon. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Funeral services were Friday, Nov. 30, in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Melana Scruggs officiating. Burial was in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora, under direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora. Wilma Jung
Wilma Jung, 80, Aurora, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, in her home. She was born Oct. 11, 1929, in Brown Springs to Willie and Della Rogers Wittenborn. She was a homemaker. Survivors include four sons, Melvin Jung, Lewis Jung and Dewayne Jung, all of Aurora, and Larry Jung, Wentworth; three brothers; three sisters; eight grandchildren; and 14 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; one brother; and two sisters. Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 28, in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora, under direction of Peterson Funeral Chapel, Aurora.
William Robert "Billy Bob" Jones
William Robert "Billy Bob" Jones, 79, Marionville, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in St. John's Springfield. He was born March 19, 1931, in Galena to Charlie and Minnie (Thomas) Jones. He married Betty Jennings Oct. 7, 1950. She survives. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a minister for more than 50 years, preaching at the Horse Creek Church for the past nine years. He was preceded in death by one son, William Rodney Jones; and two sisters, Avis Henry and Anna Mae Blair. Additional survivors include two daughters, Linda Eutsler, Billings, and Roberta French, Aurora; three brothers, Archie Jones, Charles Jones and Jerry Jones; two sisters, Phyllis Carver and Rosemary Lafferty; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Services were Friday, April 16, at Manlove-Stumpff Chapel, Crane, with Brad Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Galena Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Grace Justice
Grace Justice, 92, Aurora, died at 7:55 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, at St. John's, Springfield. She was born Aug. 8, 1917, on her family farm, south of Aurora, to William A. and Kathryn B. (Bradley) Samuels. She was a graduate of Aurora High School and was a member of the First Church of God, Aurora. She married Clyde Justice in 1941 in Aurora. They had recently moved to the Aurora Nursing Center, Aurora. He survives. Additional survivors include one nephew. She was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Samuels. Graveside services were Monday, April 19, at Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora, with the Rev. David Ellis officiating, under direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora. Memorial contributions may be made to the Aurora Nursing Center, in care of the funeral home.
Allen V. Johnson
Allen V. Johnson, 77, Miller, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, in St. John’s Springfield.

He was born April 5, 1929, in Miller to Leo and Violet (Carpenter) Johnson.
He was an automotive mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Allie (Overby) Johnson, of the home; three sons, Loyd, Kyle and Dennis Johnson; four daughters, Connie Williams, Marcia Millard, Kim Palmer and Laura Pittman; three sisters, Alma Vanek, Datha Taylor and Wilda Crow; one brother Murl Johnson; 24 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Beth Garza, two sisters, Atha Cole and Clovis Dinitto, and two brothers, Victor and J.D. Johnson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, in the First Christian Church, Aurora, with the Rev. Charles F. Bahn officiating. Burial will be in Misemer Cemetery, Miller. Cremation was under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield.
