George Harry Walker
George Harry Walker, 80, Marionville, MO, died Monday, April 5, 2010, in his home.
He was born Oct. 17, 1929, in Bakersville, Calif., to Harry and Rosie Lee Rowe Walker. He moved from Monterey, Calif., to Marionville with his family when he was 14. He graduated from Marionville High School with the Class of 1948.
He married Patricia Ann Cain Sept. 19, 1952, in Harrison, Ark. She survives.
He worked in the Vaisey-Bristol Shoe Factory in Marionville for 25 years and was a plant foreman for Roscon Pipe Manufacturing Company in Springfield until his retirement. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.
Additional survivors include two sons, George Lee Walker and Jimmy Dee Walker, both of Marionville; three daughters, Rosalea Ellen Hodde, Vandalia, Mary Susan Head, Versallies, and Jacqualyn Ann Manetzke, Aurora; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Services were Thursday, April 8, in the Williams Funeral Home Chapel, Marionville. Burial, with military rites, was in the Missouri Veterans' Cemetery, Springfield.
J.R. Wallace
J.R. Wallace, 92, Marionville, died Monday Sept. 3, 2007, in his home.
He was born Aug. 28, 1915, in Red Falls, Minn., to George and Martha Slieght Wallace. He wa a retired shoe factory worker.
Survivors include three sons, Robert and Larry Wallace, both of Marionville, and Howard Wallace, one daughter, Charlene Gastorf, Aurora; and one sister, Mildred Cornman, Monett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn.
Graveside services were Thursday, Sept. 6, in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora, under direction of Peterson Funeral Home, Aurora.
Nell T. Wallace
Nell T. Wallace, 92, Marionville, MO, died at 11:10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, in the Ozarks Methodist Manor, Marionville. She was born July 22, 1915, in Lebanon to George and Ethel (Burton) Hurt. She retired after 30-plus years as a machine operator for the Juvenile Shoe Company. She married Clayton Wallace May 25, 1935, in Camdenton, he died Dec. 4, 1989. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dorothy; three sisters, Dorothy Hurt, Margaret Farrar and Louise Fulp; and one grandson. Survivors include one son, Charles Wallace, Billings; one daughter, Frieda Wrinkle, Marionville; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, in the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora. Burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora.
Hunter Owen Walters
Hunter Owen Walters was stillborn Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Cox Monett. He was the son of Matt and Charena (Kimbler) Walters, Monett.
Survivors include two sisters, Tesia and Tateanna, of the home; paternal grandparents Rick and Marion Walters, Mt. Vernon; maternal grandparents Chuck Kimbler, Mt. Vernon, and Dave and Tawnya Swafford, Verona; paternal great-grandparents Lawrence and Ina Mae Lutz, Mt. Vernon, and
Vivian Walters, Pierce City; and maternal great-grandparents Tom and Mary Ann Carlson, Monett, and Ed and Norma Kimbler, Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Curran and Truitt, paternal grandmother Sharon Staponski Walters and maternal great-grandfather Joseph Walters.
Graveside services were Saturday, Dec. 8, at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Pulaskifield, under direction of Lakin Funeral Home, Pierce City.
Earmle E. Watson




Earmle E. Watson, 80, Verona, MO, died Sunday, March 18, 2007, in Cox South, Springfield.
He was born Oct. 26, 1926, to Robert and Golda (Ledgerwood) Watson. He married Ruth Stapleton Sept 11, 1946.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, one son, Lonnie, and one sister, Violet Ann Reed.
Survivors include two brothers, Delmer, Shell Knob, and Wallace, Cassville. He was a Jehovah’s Witness.
Memorial services were Sunday March 2, in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Aurora, with Ken Welsh officiating.


Annette Kay Weatherly


Annette Kay Weatherly, 45, Aurora, MO, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at her residence. She was born March 17, 1961, in Aurora, to Charles Gene Bowling and Joann Cassy Perkins. She married Vincent Alan Weatherly April 27, 1979 at the First Baptist Church in Aurora. She was a secretary at First Independent Bank, Aurora. She graduated from Aurora High School in 1979.
Survivors include two sons, Regan Weatherly, Liberal, and Michael “Trent” Weatherly, Columbia, two brothers Richard Bowling, Pryor, Okla, and Dr. Brett Bowling, Monett; her father, Gene and his wife, Delphia Bowling, Freistatt and her grandmother, Clala Bowling, Aurora, and one grandson.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Gary Gene Bowling and a grandparent.
Services were Tuesday, Jan. 16, in First Baptist Church, Aurora, with David Martin officiating. Burial was in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora, under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Aurora Future Farmers of America, in care of the funeral home.


Lee Charles Weekes
Lee Charles Weekes, 82, Verona, MO, died at 5:49 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007, in his home.
He was born Oct. 13, 1924, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Charles and Rose (Detrich) Weekes.
He retired from McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage, where he worked as a registered nurse. He was a United States Navy Veteran and served in World War II, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Verona.
He married Delsa Green Nov. 18, 1948, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She survives.
Additional survivors include three sons, Randall Lee Weekes, Cedar City, Utah, Harold Mark Weekes, Clearfield, Utah, and Linden Paul Weekes, Saratoga Springs, Utah; two daughters, DeAnna Chaffin, Verona, ,and Arlaine Bell, Willard; two brothers, Cleve George Weekes, Blackfoot, Idaho, Larry Blair Weekes, Archer, Idaho; one sister, Marie Munns, Archer; 34 grandchldren; and 50 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rose Anna Weekes; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, in the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, Verona, with burial in Sutton Cemetery, Archer, on Saturday, June 23. Local arrangements are under direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon.
Fern Irene (Bradley) Wells



Fern Irene (Bradley) Wells, 88, Marionville, MO, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009.
She was born May 25, 1920, in Barry County.
She married Hubert F. Wells Aug. 10, 1938. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Earl D., and a grandson.
She was a member of Buck Prairie Baptist Church for 65 years, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Blevins and Peggy Fitzpatrick; three sons, Charles Wells, Bob Wells and Curtis Wells; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Buck Prairie Baptist Church, Marionville. Burial will be in Marionville IOOF Cemetery, under direction of Williams Funeral Home, Marionville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Buck Prairie Church building fund or the American Cancer Society.


Jerry Lee Wells



Jerry Lee Wells, 52, Aurora, MO, died Monday, March 19, 2007, in his home. He was born Nov. 14, 1954, in Stone County to Silas and Betty (Curbow) Wells.
He had been a lifelong resident of the Stone and Barry county area, where he had worked as an auto mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Silas and Betty; his stepfather, Emerson Wright; and one brother, Gary Wells.
Survivors include three sisters, Linda Wheeler, Reeds Spring, and Nancy Howard and Cathy Branstetter, both of Crane; and one brother, Carroll Wells, Crane.
Services were Thursday, March 22, in Westrip Funeral Home, Crane. Burial was in Nolan Cemetery, Galena.

Rose Elizabeth West



Rose Elizabeth West, 96, Miller, MO, passed away at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Dec. 29, 1910, in Mindenmines to George “Ben” and Ethel Mae (Enke) Kale. When Rose was 3 years old, her mother married John David Stirewalt. She was raised by them. She was a homemaker and helped Raymond farm. Rose loved gardens and growing them year round in her greenhouse. She was a member of the Red Oak Quilting Club and a 4-H leader. Rose attended Round Grove Baptist Church.
She married Raymond Louis West Sept. 15, 1936, in Mt. Vernon. They were married 51 years when he preceded her in death Sept. 20, 1987.
Survivors include one son, Monty West and wife, Jan, Miller; two sisters, Muriel Pennington, Sarcoxie, and Betty Carnes, Carthage, two brothers, Harold Stirewalt, Moss Point, Miss., and Clyde Stirewalt, Diamond; three grandchildren, Kimberly Rinker and husband, Dwight, and Kristy Prater and husband Chris, all of Mt. Vernon, and Monty West III, Miller; three step grandchildren, Brent Wilson, Willmar, Minn., Brian Wilson, Springfield, and Jennifer Miller, Mt. Vernon; three great-grandchildren, Drew and Whitney Rinker and Jared Prater; five step-great-grandchildren, Jelani and Pyper Miller, Kaylie and Cole Wilson and Maddie Huff; and several nieces and nephews.
Her paretns and 10 brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Services were Sunday, April 15, at Round Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Holman officiating. Burial was in Goss Cemetery at Phelps, under the direction of Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, Miller

Brenda Sue White
Brenda Sue White, 56, Aurora, died Sunday, April 5, 2009, in Ozark Mountain Regional Health Care Center, Crane.
She was born Aug. 17, 1952, in DeSoto to Emma Lorraine (Politte) Warren. She graduated from high school in DeSoto and worked a numnber of years for the DeSoto Shoe Company. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Shell Knob.
She was preceded in death by her mother, and one brother, Kenneth.
Survivors include one son, Todd Harmon, St. Louis; two brothers, John Warren, Pevely, and David Long, Republic; and one sister, Sandra Hahn, Galena.
Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 18, in Holy Family Catholic Church, Shell Knob, under direction of Fohn Fuenral Home, Shell Knob.
Coleen Walker White
Coleen Walker White, 44, Aurora, died at 8:24 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2007, in St. John's Springfield.
She was born March 30, 1963, in Aurora to Fred and Beverly Walker.
Survivors include two daughters, Aranessa White and Emily Journagan, both of Springfield; her mother, Beverly Brown Walker; three sisters, Marilyn "Toni" Henry, Springfield, Cindy Elliott, Aurora, and Connie Arnsmeyer, Marionville; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Henry Walker, and her grandmother, Millie Brown.
Services were Friday, June 1, in the Williams Fuenral Chapel, Marionville. Burial was in the Marionville IOOF Cemetery.
Frances Lee White



Frances Lee White, 93, Aurora, died at 7:47 a.m. Friday, Aug 3, 2007, in the Ozarks Methodist Manor, Marionville.
She was born Nov. 8, 1913, in Aurora to John and Nellie (Willis) Kittrell.
She lived in the Aurora community most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
She married Winfield “Cottey” White June 24, 1931, he died May 22, 1994. She was also preceded in death by one son, Bob White; one great-grandson, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Marlene Calico, and one son, Jack White, both of Aurora; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were Monday, Aug. 6, in Maple Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Lee Parson officiating, under direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora. Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.


Thelma Marie (Colestock) White
Thelma Marie (Colestock) White, 83, Halltown, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in the Maples Nursing Home, Springfield.
She was born July 7, 1926, in Rush County, Ind., to Raymon Lee and Wilma (Bowles) Colestock. She married Jerry E. White April 21, 1953. He survives.
Additional survivors include one daughter,Anne Roth, Washington; one sister, Marjorie Siders, Rushville, Ind.; and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty June Boyd; and one brother, Norman Colestock.
After graduating from Arlington (Ind.) High School, she attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary, Cincinnati, Ohio, for two years. She transferred to Ozark Christian College, Joplin, where she received a bahelor's degree. She attended graduate school at Fort Hays Kansas State College, Hays, Kan., Missouri State University, Springfield, Central Missouri State College, Warrensburg, University of Missouri-Columbia, and Southeast Missouri State College, Cape Giradeau. While a student at Ozark Christian College, she served as a representative of the college by singing for revivals in churches and Christian service camps. After her marriage, she continued to use her musical abilities as the wife of a minister. They traveled to churches throughout the state in the late 1960's to raise support for the establishment of Show-Me Christian Home.
Mrs. White taught for 24 years, teaching English in three school districts, and was school librarian in two districts. After retiring, she owned and operated Whitehall Mercantile on Route 66 in Halltown. She was a founding member of the Route 66 Asssociation of Missouri.
Services were Saturday, April 17, in the Halltown Chirstian Church, Halltown, under direction of Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield.

Ina Mae Whitehead
Ina Mae Whitehead, 81, Ash Grove, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, in St. John's Springfield, following a short illness.
She was born south of Halltown in Lawrence County to Walter and Lela (Galloway) Johnson. She was a lifelong area resident.
She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School, attended Missouri State Teachers College (Missouri State University), and taught school in one-room schools. She was a memer of Ash Grove Assembly of God Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
She married R. Conley Whitehead Sept. 21, 1950. He died Oct. 29, 2005.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Farron Dale, April 16, 1964; two brothers, Mel and Victor Johnson; and three sisters, Grace Garner, Rosetta Carr and Vivian Pyle.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Whitehead, Ash Grove, and Dane Whitehead, Bois D'Arc; two daughters, Reba Long, Walnut Grove, and Christina Jett, Ash Grove; one brother, Ivan Johnson, Marionville; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday, Sept. 15, in Ash Grove Assembly of God Church, with the Revs. Don Miller and Carl Long officiating. Burial was in Ash Grove Cemetery, under direction of Wilson-Brim-Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove.
Bob Wiles
Bob Wiles of Marionville passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, following a sudden illness, on his 86th birthday.
He was born Sept. 21, 1921, to Elmer and Maggie Wiles and was a lifelong resident of Marionville, graduating high school in 1939.
Bob married Sarah Darby on April 11, 1957, and she preceded him in death this past April 14. They were best known for their partnership in the operation of Wiles Orchard. Many will remember the unique flavor of Bob's homemade apple cider and the taste of his old-fashioned Jonathan apples. He was also a retired clerk from the Marionville Post Office.
Bob was active in Republican Party politics, having served as committeeman from the South Buck Prarie Township. He was also a longtime member of the Marionville Chapter of the International Order of Odd Fellows and was the organization's secretary - treasurer at the time of his passing.
Bob is survived by a son, Mike, wife, Carmen, and granddaughters Bailey, Jessa and Reagan, of Ozark; a sister-in-law, Florence Darby; niece Carol Bangle and husband Larry; and nephew, Bud Darby and wife Linda, all of Marionville. He is also survived by first cousins Reid Wiles and Nellie Jo Reynolds of Springfield, Jane Ann and Gale Pate of Aurora, Jane Moult of Joplin, and Larry and Sherry Wiles of Billings. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law and an infant son.
Services were Monday, Sept. 24, in First United Methodist Curch, Marionville. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Marionville, under direction of William Funeral Home, Marionville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church or Marionville Cemetery Association in Bob's honor.
Sarah Ann Wiles



Sarah Ann Wiles, 81, Marionville, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007, after a short illness.
She was born Nov. 7, 1925, to Faye and Ira Darby and was a lifelong resident of Marionville, graduating high school there in 1943.
Sarah married Bob Wiles in 1957 and was best known for her partnership with him in the operation of Wiles Orchard. Her enthusiasm for her work and love for their customers will be remembered by many in the area. She loved playing with and reading stories to her grandkids. The family will greatly miss her applesauce and strawberry shortcake.
A lifelong Republican, Sarah was elected committee woman from the South Buck Prairie Township in 1956 and has been reelected to that post continually until her passing. She has also served as Republican Centeral Committee. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and secretary of the Marionville Cemetery Association.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents and two brothers.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Bob; son Mike and wife, Carmen, and granddaughters, Jessa, Bailey and Reagan, all of Ozark; and sister-in-law, Florence Darby, niece Carol Bangle and husband, Larry, and nephew Bud Darby and wife, Linda, all of Marionville.
Services were Tuesday, April 17, at First United Methodist Church, Marionville. Burial was in Marionville IOOF Cemetery, under the direction of Williams Funeral Home, Marionville.

Lillian "Doris" Williams
Lillian "Doris" Williams, 85, Lockwood, died at 12 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Lockwood.
She was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Lawrence County to Virgil L. and Elise E. (Evatt) Pendleton. She was a member of the Round Grove Baptist Church, Miller.
She married Willie Hollis Williams April 16, 1941, in Ash Grove. He died April 26, 1977.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Williams, Branson West, and Bruce Williams, Miller; one sister, Lucille Simpson, Miller; one brother, Melvin Pendleton, Miller; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Bud Pendleton; two sisters, Regina Baldwin and Oma Pendleton; and one great-grandson.
Services were Friday, Aug. 28, in Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, Miller. Burial was in Miller Memorial Gardens.

Jessee T. Willis


Jesse T. Willis, 79, Monett, died Friday, May 4, 2007, at Lacoba Nursing Home, Monett.
He was born June 20, 1927, in Shelbyville, Tenn., to Thomnas Edwin and Ada Coker Willis.
He married Barbara Roody Willis May 26, 1955, in Gold Beach, Ore., She survives.
He was a missionary minister and a member of the 9th Street Church of Christ in Monett. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
Additional survivors include three sons, Thomas Willis, Arcadia, Calif., and Carl and Bill Willis, both of Monett, two daughters, Dolly Carter, Monett, and Phyllis Stewart, Mt. Vernon; one brother, Park Willis, Overton, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Corrine Hunt, Dorothy Podamajersky and Tommie Griffis, and two brothers, Edwin and Glenn Willis. Services were Monday, May 7, at 9th Street Church of Christ with Nathan Ross and Jason McCully officiating. Burial was in Monett IOOF Cemetery, under direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.

Bobby Jean Wilson
Bobby Gene Wilson, 70, Marionville, died at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, in his home.
He was born Dec. 15, 1936, in Galena to Marshall Venus and Florence Letha Greenway Wilson.
He was married to the former Donna Ree Kerns.
He was a member of Union Grove Church and a carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Donna; four daughters, Debra Klinge, Marionville, Terri Jean Wood, Springfield, Regina Wilson and Cathy Hubbard, Kansas; two sons, Robert Wilson, Las Vegas, Nev., and Larry Wilson, Jenkins; two brothers, Jack Wilson, Galena, and Earl Wilson, Springfield; three sisters Fay Matney, Nixa, Clyime Bowling, Crane, and Evelyn Latton; Aurora; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, John Wilson. Services were Thursday, Nov. 15, in Williams Funeral Chapel, Marionville, with the Rev. Brian Cooke officiating. Burial was in the Marionville IOOF Cemetery.
Earnesteen Jenkins Wilson
Earnesteen Jenkins Wilson, 89, Marionville, died at 5:32 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at the Ozarks Methodist Manor, Marionville.
She was born Nov. 2, 1919, in Stone County to Sam Virgil and Vennie White Jenkins.
She married Jess Robert Wilson, he died May 30, 2001. Among those preceding her in death were a grandson and great-granddaughter.
Survivors include one son, Wayne Scott, Brown Springs; one grandaughter; five great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday, June 29, in Williams Funeral Home Chapel, Marionville, with the Rev. Bryan Cook officiating. Burial was in Marionville IOOF Cemetery.
Mary Lee Crumpley Wilson
Mary Lee Crumpley Wilson, 68, Marionville, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, in her home.
She was born Sept. 14, 1941, in Marionville to John Wesley and Carmine Celia Pearce Crumpley.
She married Ray Wilson June 30, 1961. He survives.
She graduated with the Class of 1959 from Marionville High School. She was a member of the Pierson Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served as an elder for many years. She was also a teacher's aide and bus driver for the Greene Valley State School and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Carmine Crumpley.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Marla Shuler, Clever, and Melissa Bowman, Diamond; three siblings, Mearleen Barnett, Clever, Bill Crumpley, Willard, and Janice Bluebaum, Billings; and four grandchildren.
Services were Saturday, April 3, in the Pierson Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Bradfield, with the Rev. Duncan Clyne officiating. Burial was in the Charity Cemetery at Bradfield, under direction of Williams Funeral Home, Marionville.
Tami Wilson
Tami Wilson, 49, Aurora, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, in St. John's Springfield.
She was born Nov. 4, 1960, in Aurora to Earl and Jettie Bowling Seitz. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her father, Earl Bowling; two sons, Bryce Powell, Hurley, and Brent Wilson, Aurora; and one daughter, Shonda Wilson, Aurora.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, in the Elm Branch Christian Church, Aurora, under direction of Peterson Fuenral Chapel, Aurora.

Betty L. Wolf, 82, Verona, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Aurora Nursing Center, Aurora.
She was born Oct. 16, 1926, in Monett to Troy Anthony and Alice Elwell Anderson. She was a nurse for Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett for 18 years and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, north of Monett.
She married Carl Wolf Dec. 25, 1944, in Billings. He died Feb. 19, 1993.
Survivors include three sons, Rick Wolf, Verona, Danny Wolf, Bolivar, and Randy Wolf, Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters, Renee McKinley, Aurora, Anita Perry, Columbus, Kan., and Mitzi Riley, Fort Scott, Kan.; one sister, Bonnie Wiseley, Raytown; and 67 grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Wolf.
Services were Monday, June 8, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the chairty of the donor's choice.
Ruth Ann Wood
Ruth Ann Wood, 72, Aurora, died at 1:45 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010, at St. John's Springfield. She was born Oct. 6, 1937, in Perryville to Sylvester and Laura (Guyot) Unterreiner. She was a 1953 graduate of St. Vincent De Paul High School in Perryville.
She worked as a clerk for the Aurora Lumber Company and later as a secretary for State Farm Insurance in Aurora. She was a member of the OQC Quilters Club in Cassville, the Aurora Quilters Club and the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she was also a member.
She married Joseph Earl Wood in Perryville April 14, 1956. He survives.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Jan Baker and Lori Wallace, both of Aurora, and Joyce Stribling, Webb City; one sister, Dorothy Fleugle, Perryville; two brothers, David Unterreiner and Tom Unterreiner, both of Perryville; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Unterreiner.
Funeral Mass was Tuesday, May 11, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Aurora. Burial was at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Aurora.

Nora Agnes Worm
Nora Agness Worm, 92, Verona, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007. She was born May 22, 1915, in Meinert to Walter and Anna Kluhsmann Joeckel. She married Ernest Phillip Worm Dec. 6, 1936, in Meinert. He died April 16, 1957. She was a homemaker and retired dietician at St. Vincent's Hospital, Monett. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Freistatt, and the Dorcas Ladies Aid. Survivors include one son, Martin Worm, Verona; two daughters, Frances Scates, Joplin, and Marcell Mitchell, Springfield, one brother, Delbert Joeckel, Venis, Fla.; four sisters, Edna Probert, Lockwood, Dorothy Brewer, Oklahoma, and Ester Stout and Elda Farmer, both of Carthage; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Services were Saturday, Oct. 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Freistatt, with Wilbur Claude officiating. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, under direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethesda Lutheran Children's Home.
Edna D. Williams, 95, Verona, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Cox Monett after a short illness.
She was born Oct. 26, 1911, in Verona to Thomas and Martha (Bennett) Marbut.
She was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church, Purdy. She married Lawrence J. Williams Dec. 23, 1946. He died in 1998.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Williams and ronald Williams, both of Verona, and Edward Winans, Springfield; one sister, Bernece Coulter, Marionville; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha E. Allen, in 1961.
Services were Friday, April 6, at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett, with the Rev. Lee Neil officiating. Burial was in Calton Cemetery, Verona.
Memorials may be made to the Calton Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

She was born Oct. 20, 1933, in Jasper County, MO., to John Otis and Ada Marie (Richards) Chandler.
Ada Marie was a Mt. Vernon High School graduate and a member of the Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon and also attended First Baptist in Stotts City. She married Harold Wendler on Aug. 14, 1951, in Eureka Springs, Ark. He survives.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Peggy Gibson and husband, Jeff, Mt. Vernon; two sons, Jerry Wendler and wife, Julie, Aurora, and Kenneth Wendler and wife, Stephanie, Bentonville, Ark.; five grandchildren, Kevin Wendler and Jeff Gibson, Mt. Vernon, Jill Wendler, Aurora, Shelena and Dawn Wendler, Bentonville; and two great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Julia Wendler. Her parents and a daughter Sherry Wendler, preceded her in death.
Open memorial visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday April 6, in the First Baptist Church of Stotts City.

Ada Marie Wendler, 73, Stotts City, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2007, at the Aurora Nursing Center.
