Eugene Joe Williams
Eugene Joe Williams, 87, Marionville, formerly of Verona, died at 12:40 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at the Ozarks Methodist Manor in Marionville.   He was born June 26, 1924, in Barry county to Herbert and Jewel Glenn (Thomas) Williams.
     He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army and a farmer.  He and his brother, Tom owned Williams Brothers Construction for 30 years.  He was also a cattle rancher.
     He lived in the Aurora and Verona area until moving to Marionville in 2002.  He was a member of the Verona School Board for 22 years.  He was a member of the Missouri Cattlemen's Association, serving as secretary for 17 years, and was a member of the Missouri Beef Board.  He was also on the board for the University of Missouri, a board member of MFA, a charter member of the Verona Lions Club, chairman of the Spring River Cemetery board, a volunteer at the Ozarks Methodist Manor an a member of the Verona Baptist Church.
     Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ylene; three sons, Gale of St. Joseph, MO, Alan of Gardner, Kan., and David Lynn of Battlefiled, MO; one daughter, Sue Doss of Verona, four brothers, Roy of Springfield, MO, Thomas of Aurora, MO, Charles of Sunrise Beach, MO and Martin of Unionville, MO; five sisters, Elsa Manes, Springfield, MO, Rebekah Miller, Willodean Vaught and Glenna Edmondson, all of Cassville, MO and Evalina Shippee of Montana; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
     He was preceded in death by one son, Gary; two baby sisters; and one brother, Harold.
     Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at the Verona Baptist Church, burial will be at Spring River Cemetery, Verona, MO, under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell funeral Home, Aurora.
