Rex Williams, 83, Verona, MO Obituary

Rex Williams
Rex Williams, 83, Verona, died at 10:41 a.m. Friday, June 22, 2012, at his home.  He was born April 11, 1929, in Barry County to Wendell Rex and Lola Fern (Mullen) Williams.
     He lived in the Barry-Lawrence County communities his entire life and was a 1947 graduate of Verona High School.  He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.  He received the Purple Heart and was discharged in March 1953.
     He was a dairy and beef farmer and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
     He was married to Anita Weddington of Monett, MO  June 7, 1956, in Miami, Okla.  She survives.
     Survivors include three sons, Stan Williams, Verona, MO, Jim Williams, Monett, MO and Jack Williams, Bolivar, MO,; two daughters, Jane Brewer, Springfield, MO and Maggie Ingram, Nixa, MO; and one great-granddaughter.
     He was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Parrigon.
     Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, with burial at Clay Hill Cemetery, south of Aurora, under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.
     Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church building fund or the clay Hill Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
